Eagles are masters of the sky, apex aerial predators with exceptional eyesight and great wingspans. The brown snake eagle is recognised by its large, round head and yellow eyes. Its strong legs are thickly scaled, providing protection against snake bites. These eagles search for prey whilst soaring above the expansive savanna, or perched on a high tree branch. They swoop down, catch their prey and bite off the snake’s head in mid-air before swallowing the body whole. This image shows a snake’s tail protruding from the hunter’s powerful, hooked beak.
Medium/Process: Giclee, Paper: Hahnemühle Bamboo Archival mounting, Substrate: Dibond, Subframe
Dimensions: 40” x 30” (101.6cm x 76.2cm)
