Nicole Forrester, Kenya, 2025
Female elephants and their calves live in close family groups, whereas the males only join the females when looking for a mate. August is obviously the mating season in Kenya, as there were a number of bull elephants amongst the herds. Twice during the six-week stay in the foothills of the Chyulu Hills, the evening golden hour had a vivid orange glow which painted the elephant gathering in dramatic, contrasting light and shadows.
Medium/Process: Archival Pigment-based inks, 12 Colour Giclee system, Canvas, Frame : Floating Black
Dimensions: 98” x 40” (248.9cm x 101.6cm)
Edition: 1 of 5 Canvas
