Snow only falls in specific high-altitude areas in the north and south of Saudi Arabia, where temperatures fall below freezing in winter. However, this does not stop children having fun without snow - dune tobogganing down sandy slopes in the Arabian Desert is fantastic (even for adults, as I found out!) This is one of my favourite images taken in Saudi Arabia ‘ showing pure joy of living and the beautiful shades of sand-colours in the afternoon light. The two young boys are totally focused on racing each other, one on a toboggin and the other on foot, kicking up fine sand as they speed downhill.
