Nicole Forrester, Cornwall, UK, 2021
Whilst this gorgeous, young Caribbean flamingo is not native to the UK, there is a small flock at Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary in Hayle, Cornwall. Successful breeding in captivity has resulted in a couple of chicks hatching and increasing the flock, although one of the new chicks grew up and flew off to France. The flamingo’s neck is long and flexible, forming a graceful S-shape with the head resting upon its feathered back, whilst looking at the camera with a coy eye. Flamingos are born with grey eyes which turn bright yellow or orange once they mature to adults.
Medium/Process: Giclee, Paper: Canson Baryta, Archival mounting, Substrate: Dibond, Subframe
Dimensions: 30” x 20” (76.2cm x 50.8cm)
Edition: 1 of 50
